How About A Giveaway?

That, friends is a camera case. A custom order requested by one of my Etsy customers that's sized to fit perfectly (I hope) her small digital camera.
Cute, eh? It's even padded!

In fact, I think it's so dang cute that I'm going to make them a regular shop offering. The only problem is, I don't have a small, handbag-sized digital camera of my own to make a sample for. It's on my list, yes, but every time I'm at the store thinking of buying one, I realize I (still) haven't done my homework and therefore have no idea which one I should buy.

Anyway, here's where you come in. I need some camera measurements to help me develop a bulletproof formula for making these on demand, in any size. So, if you leave a comment here with the dimensions of your pocket camera (no dslr's or the like) , length, height and width, before the end of the week, you might just get yourself a free Splatgirl Creates camera case like the one above.

That's right, it's a giveaway! The first!

Just be sure I have a way to contact you to get your address should you be one of the winners. I'm planning on picking five winners, or, since it's likely that only five people will enter anyway, you'll all win :)

Comments:
The prototype looks great!

My digital camera is a Kodak EasyShare CX4300. It is 4.5 inches wide by 3 inches high and 2 inches in depth (that is including the fact that the lens sticks out about 1/2 an inch.

My mom's camera is a Nikon Coolpix and it is 3.5 inches wide by 2 inches high by 2 inches in depth.

I've got a Cannon Elph and it's 3 3/8" X 2 1/8" X 3/4".

Cute camera case!

Is there a way you could add a strap for either carrying on your wrist or a shoulder strap? I'm constantly fishing around in my purse for my camera on trips and would like something that would help me "whip it out."
I can find my camera dimensions later.

this is awesome! i hate the bag that came with my camera (it's too bulky). the dimensions of my canon powershot s500 is 3 7/8" wide by 2.5" high by 1 1/4" deep.

moxie, yes. I'm planning on making them customizable with a clip or a strap or whatever

So cute!
I love my Moleskin cover so much - it is PERFECT! If these are anywhere near as cute - I'm sure I will love it!

Okay, I'm coming out of lurker mode to enter your contest! I've got a Canon PowerShot sd630, and its dimensions are, according to the manufacturer, 3.56 x 2.24 x 0.80 inches. I'm sure if you rounded that up a bit, it'd be fine, though.

I came to your blog a few weeks ago after a friend told me about a custom bag that you'd created for her. Love your creations!

You can reach me at elirood (at) gmail.com.

What a cute case! I have a Panasonic Lumix - width: 3.75 inches, depth: 1.25 inches, height: 2.625 inches.

My Sony Cyber-shot is 3 and 5/8 w by 1 and 1/4 d by 2 and 1/4 h. I love the items you make. That green purse from a few days ago was outstanding. I'm a knitter who is trying to learn to sew, but I'm aware of my limitations.

My e-mail address is jmazur (at) necanet.org. I've never won a drawing, but it doesn't prevent me from entering.

Wow, I am so excited!! My panasonic lumix is 3 3/4 inches long, 2 inches tall, and 1 inch wide.
I have been a fan of your blog for years, you are so very talented! I enjoy cooking (and knitting) that is how I found your blog. You seem to always inspire me in the kitchen!! Thanks!

I just about went "splat" with joy when I saw your camera case! My camera is a Kodak EasyShare M853; it is 8 & 1/2" X 5 & 1/2" X 2 & 1/2".

Your bags, cooking, and house are all so inspirational. I found you through a link via Apartment Therapy that highlighted the groovy, color-filled house you are building. I'm in the beginning process of building a "modern shed" here in Gig Harbor, so I love to visit your blog and appreciate all the creative work you do.

Thanks for the chance to be part of the giveaway!

i have a sony cybershot that my daughter uses as teething ring. i really need a cute case like this.

Wow, fantastic idea!

The dimensions of my Canon PowerShot SD450 are:

7/8" by 2 1/4" by 3 3/8" (I'm rounding up ever so slightly.)

And if you wanted to get particularly snazzy (and from reading your blog over the last few months I think you might), there's a strap in one end (the 7/8" by 2 1/4" side) that could potentially use a hole sized 3/8" by 1/4".

I have a Kodak Easyshare- dimensions: 4 x 2.5 x 1 inches

Thank you for the giveaway! This case is SO cute!!

ah, and i meant to say
(1) that the strap hole would be in the middle of that panel, and
(2) my email is alexandra.ess at gmail

That case is so cute!

This is still before the end of the week, right?

Your Modern in MN blog helped me get through my condo renovation (and stand by my instincts to use bright paint colors). Thanks!

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC W-5
3.75" wide, 2.5" tall, 1.5" deep

Would be good to let the wrist strap come out of the case (it's attached at the upper-right corner as you hold the camera).

cheers

I don't know if my comment is too late, but will add to the others in case you don't have measurements for a Nikon L6 (it's teeny):

W=3.75 H=2.5 D=1.125

It currently travels in a "denali" case that is about an inch too big. It slides around a bit, but it's all I could find. A smaller, more colorful bag would be way better. :) You rock for putting this out for people.
