Pizza Craving
Normal folks would just call number on the magnet stuck to their refrigerator and wait for their pepperoni and pineapple to show up on the doorstep. Here at Casa Splatgirl, that's not quite how we roll.
Somehow, in my world, it's become completely logical that the step that follows deciding we must have pizza is busting out the snowblower and blazing a trail across the patio to the WFO:
ahhhh.
My hero.
Whether it's for love of Girl or pizza I don't know, but I guess I'll keep him either way :)

Wallet-y
I've been promising this for AGES, and I've been working on it here and there for just as long but sometimes the simplest-seeming things can be the most complex. When it comes to the underappreciated yet used by everyone accessory the wallet, simple yet complex is definitely true. Anyway, after a whole lot of messing around and more do-overs than I can remember, I've finally arrived at what I think are a couple of awesome mens wallet designs.
First, the flip out. This style can be sort of hard to find, and since it happens to be Boy's favorite, I figured I had better figure out how to keep him supplied, you know?
This version is lined in one of the awesome "Germania" fabrics from Jay McCarroll:
same style, less bright:
Then, a standard bi-fold style with velcro closure:
still loving the robot fabrics!
And because I can't go a day without making something with an inset, robotic goodness+ bling:
All four are in the shop now!

I've Got Baggage!
Whew. I think I've finally gotten caught up for a minute with the crazy holiday to-do list.
I have to give you guys a huge round of applause and BIG, BIG thank you for making this my absolute best season ever...and it's not too late for you last minute shoppers, because I've just added SEVEN new bags to my Etsy shop!
Do go check them out, won't you? And if you're looking for something special, be it small or large, I've got lots of other stuff in stock and I'd be happy to help you pick the perfect gift.
I wish I could show you all of the cool stuff that's left here in the past few weeks, but I've been so crazed that lots of things aren't ever making it to the photo department these days. I think I need an assistant, and let's not even get started with the cooking and baking photo ops, because I have been even worse on that front.
Anyway, I do have evidence of a few cool things that have come out of my studio recently...
Just packed up for shipping to a local client, a custom-designed orange Buckles Bucket:
and another fabulous incarnation of the "Volumes" fabric:
This is one of my most favorite wee bags of the season, and it went to a fellow artist at the Cache at the Casket show before it even had a chance at it's photo-op (alas, the sad photo):
In that same inset-obsessed genre, something you want to lick:
And more greenery:
See, I said it was WHEW, and that's just the tip of the iceberg!
Hope everyone is enjoying the season, crazy as it may be!

Black Friday Fallout
Announcing the arrival of some totally awesome treasure:
Laugh at me if you must, but I have been pining away for an obnoxious pair of cowgirl boots for YEARS. I oogle them online constantly (darn you zappos), but the ones I like are always crazy expensive and being just a cowgirl poseur myself, I could never really justify buying a ~$500 pair of boots. But then it was black Friday and I was sitting around being lazy and some random twitter comment gave me the shoe shopping bug. So I was over at 6pm.com (they're the sale zappos site if you didn't know) where I might possibly have been buying other shoes, too, when I saw these very expensive boots on sale for like 75% off and the deal was done. And after having to return the first pair I got because it was damaged (props to 6pm for having the same great customer service you know and love from zappos) and then waiting and hoping the LAST PAIR of my size would be ok, they arrived, and they are in fact, ok. AND I LOVE them. And they fit, which I was super skeptical about being that I have some wideass cavegirl feet.
Obnoxious boots, HURRAY!
p.s. cowgirl boot soles are slippery! anyone know what I do about this?
